Don’t want to be a slot reviewing moaner, but Play’n GO has been on quite a run of reskins, or redo’s of older games, lately. It’s as if the studio has been scrambling to find new ideas and has resorted to tapping the bottom of the jar to find something, anything in the way of a concept to publish. Rise of Olympus Extreme is another example, and it’s not a bad game, but it’s also one that’s been played before, many times, in many guises as Play’n GO milks the Moon Princess formula for all its worth. It’s a good formula, but after playing it for the umpteenth time, well, you know, even the most exciting things can lose their allure when they’ve been gorged on too much.
What’s likely to pull punters into this game is the Extreme part. This is in reference to the greatly expanded win multiplier and some of the biggest, if not the biggest, winning potential to be found in a Moon Princess-related slot. The absolute luckiest of players are going to have a darn tootin’ good time if they smash headfirst into the exorbitant 50,000x win cap. An x1,000 win multiplier would certainly help in this task, and one nice thing about the multiplier is that it doesn’t just increase by +1, but the increments increase as the multiplier reaches higher levels in a snowballing effect. Otherwise, the cascading, wild adding, God powering action is as enjoyable here as anywhere else.
A fine enough game then when all is said and done, and one that adds an ‘Extreme’ option to the Moon Princess/Rise of Olympus range of slots. So while not many are likely to witness the most extreme parts of Rise of Olympus Extreme, just knowing a massive multi and even massiver payouts are potentialities might be enough to encourage some gamblers to keep on plugging away.
