My have the mighty fallen. It’s hard to believe the same studio that made Money Train 4, Dead Man’s Trail, and a bunch of other heavyweights also made Bacon Bankroll. At the risk of sounding like a villain, Bacon Bankroll is a very mediocre slot that doesn’t feel like a huge amount of thought or resources went into its making – much like rest of the content ever since the studio was acquired by Kindred. This response amplified further after working out it’s a reskin of Jungle Jamboree (with lower volatility). On the plus side, Bacon Bankroll doesn’t look bad, users get a glimpse into the high-flying world of finance, and the connotations of bankers being as ‘greedy as a pig’ are clear as day. In other words, the pink, curly-tailed skin is fine and dandy, but mechanics-wise, Bacon Bankroll is about as dated as the world of 1980s business it portrays.
Jungle Jamboree must have had its supporters, though, because here we are with a round two of sorts. Free spins do have that multiplier, though it is fixed, but premiums can land stacked, meaning a full screen of matching high pays would theoretically be worth 3,000x during the bonus round (the max win is 5,106x). It was tricky to link high pays into wins, as they seemed more intent on getting in each other’s way. On a less positive note, the Wheel Bonus Prize is a pretty pointless add-on. Having prizes displayed above the reels may provide a certain optical lure for some players, but the values are minimal and totally at odds with astronomical bankers’ bonuses. The wheel just doesn’t fit all that well, like a last-minute inclusion rather than a dynamic extra.
